Gyanvapi: Based on the findings of the Archaeological Survey of India, it can be said that a large Hindu temple existed at the site of the present structure of the Gyanvapi Mosque.
Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side in the Gyanvapi Masjid case, read out the ASI report at a press conference which said a large Hindu temple existed prior to the construction of the present structure. The Archaeological Survey of India conducted a scientific survey of the Masjid complex following a district court order passed in July 2023.
The details come a day after a Varanasi court ruled that hard copies of the ASI survey report on the Masjid complex near the Kashi Vishwanath temple will be given to both Hindu and Muslim parties. Vishnu Jain says that we are on the verge of victory in the Gyanvapi case after the ASI report became public and all the details about the findings came out.
